November 2007: Rebecca to star in new comedy drama!
It's been a while since viewers last saw Rebecca Gibney appear in a comedic role.
Her last episode of the hit-sitcom "All Together Now" was screened in 1992.
Since then her filmography mostly consisted of dramatic characters. This is set
to change! Rebecca shot a pilot for a new comedy drama series last month.
The series is going to be titled "Packed to the Rafters" and also stars Michael Caton,
Roy Billing and Erik Thomson. The pilot is scheduled to be shown on Seven in
February 2008.
Check out these articles about the show:

on landing the lead role!
June 2007: Introducing The Dwights; How To Change In 9 Weeks

Rebecca has been pretty busy again lately. Having wrapped the NZ production "The Map Reader", she
headed to Queensland on June 12th to start filming the new aussie crime drama "How To Change In 9 Weeks".
The movie is based on a real-life story about a girl named Rachel Barber, who went missing in Melbourne
8 years ago. Newcome Kate Bell ("Blue Water High") stars as Rachel. Her on-screen parents are played by
the well-known Miranda Otto and Guy Pearce. Rebecca and Sam Neill play the parents of the murderer.
"Weeks" will be shot in Brisbane and Canungra, and later on finished in Melbourne during the next few
weeks. The film is supposed to be ready for a 2008 release.
Check the links below for further details:
Sunday Mail (16.6.07)
The Reporter (14.6.07)
On another topic, Rebecca's film "Clubland" starring Brenda Blethyn and Emma Booth ("Small Claims"), is
coming to australian cinemas on June 18th. The international (american) version titled "Introducing The
Dwights" is going to be released this August. I will update this page with any other release dates as soon as
they come to hand. There have already been two official sites launched for the movie. Be sure to check them
out here: Australian Version , American Version (go to Cast & Crew for a video interview with Rebecca!)
You can also go to the RGH Gallery for some first promo shots of Rebecca in "Clubland".
April 2007: Shooting a new film!
On April 3rd the shooting of a new film, called "The Map Reader", started in New Zealand.
As stated on IMDB.com, Rebecca is the only already confirmed star of the project. Her character's
name is Amelia. Apparently the movie is going to be distributed worldwide by Arkles Entertainment (NZ).
As soon as new info comes to hand, I will let you know on this page.
February 2007: Great news for Rebecca's international fans!
After a big and very successful premier at the Sundance Film Festival CLUBLAND was sold
to overseas distributors in the UK, USA and Germany. So the chance to watch Rebecca in this
recent film on your town's cinema screen is very very possible! :) No international release
dates have been set so far, but the Australian audience will be able to see it at the movies
starting on May 12th.
It also has been confirmed that TRIPPING OVER is going into a second series.
Here are some links to recent Rebecca articles in the aussie papers:

In a radio interview from October 2006 Rebecca also mentioned that she was going to go to New Zealand in
November (06) to film new episodes of SENSING MURDER and return to NZ again this year (07) in January to
film a new movie.
December 2006: CLUBLAND
Rebecca's latest aussie cinema film CLUBLAND is going to be screened
at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah next year, as the movie's producer
announced a few days ago. This is definitely a great start and let's
hope the film will get a cinema screening around the world by
taking that chance. Besides Rebecca CLUBLAND stars Brenda Blethyn (Pride
And Prejustice), Frankie J Holden (Lost And Found) and Emma Booth
(Small Claims 3).

September 2006: Mums Party Hard

The MUM'S THE WORD 2 stage play opened at the Comedy Theatre,
Melbourne on August 31 with an after party following.
I'm glad I was one of the people to see some of the first performances
of the show and I have to say it's no wonder that the show's season has
been extended to October 15th after being on stage less than a week.
Go to RGH's special page to find links plus reviews and photos.
On another note, the SMALL CLAIMS telemovie series will be released on DVD
in Australia on October 5, 2006.
July 2006: Tripping Over to some new roles!
Rebecca's been rather busy this year so far, and this doesn't seem
to change soon. :) Starting to perform MUM's THE WORD 2 in
Melbourne in August, Rebecca is recently filming the rest of the
new Network Ten miniseries TRIPPING OVER. Here's what TEN says
about the show:
"Tripping Over – set in London, Thailand and Australia, this six-part,
warm hearted comedy/drama explores two generations, two hemispheres
and the realisation that sometimes you have to go to the ends of the earth
to find yourself. From Mike Bullen of Cold Feet fame and SeaChange producers,
Andrew Knight and Andrea Denholm. Starring Rebecca Gibney, Lisa McCune
and Daniel MacPherson and coming to Wednesdays at 8.30pm in October."
There is no info on whether or when the show will be screened overseas, but
as it's a british-aussie co-production I assume it's gonna be aired on UK TV at
least.
June 2006: Rebecca on stage again!!!
7 years after her stage debut on THE HAPPY DAYS, Rebecca is
now going to star in Australia's first stage production of the
canadian comedy MUM'S THE WORD 2: TEENAGERS.
Rebecca will be playing the role of Alison, next to other well-known
aussie actresses including Jane Hall (who was with Rebecca in the sitcom
ALL TOGETHER NOW in the early 90s), Louise Siversen, Marg Downey and
Collette Mann. The play will open on August 31st in Melbourne.
Check these new articles about Rebecca and the play in RGH'S INTERVIEW section!!!
May 2006: Rebecca to star in a new mini-series!

"Tripping Over" started last week. The series is a co-production
between Channel 10 (Australia) and Channel Five (UK) and will
feature Daniel MacPherson, Rebecca Gibney, Lisa McCune and
Brook Satchwell as main cast, including some British actors.
Filming is taking place in Bangkok - Thailand, London - UK and
will continue in Sydney - Australia this July.
They also say the show should be on air in Down Under until the
end of the year.

**29/4/06** Last Wednesday Rebecca joined some other celebrities on the red carpet of
the 2006 ASTRA Awards in Sydney.
Happy 2nd Birthday to Baby Zach on April 7!!
Good News: Not only will the movie "Lost & Found" be released on DVD on April 27th,
Rebecca and her fellow co-stars will also join the red carpet premiere of David Blake's
debut film in Auckland, New Zealand on April 30th.
Today (18.4.06) Rebecca's publicist also told me that Bec will be presenting an award at
the night of the stars: The TVWeek Logies 2006.
All those in Australia, who desperately waited to see "Small Claims - The Reunion" finally
could be satisfied on April 16th (last Sunday) when Channel 10 showed it at 8:30pm like
the other SC telemovies. For all of you, who still hadn't had a chance to see the movie
yet, I will work on the already existing special page with videoclips etc. I will also upload
lots of photos of Rebecca in the movie to the Gallery. So be sure to check them out.
Even better news are that the Birthday Project I did with some of this site's visitors
at last arrived at Rebecca's new address. After all these problems where to send it I'm
glad to let you all know it arrived savely at the right place.
